The eye doctors at Longwood Eye consist of a group of nine
Ophthalmologists (MDs) and 13 Optometrists (ODs). We offer quality
service, comprehensive eye care, and superior results from routine
eye exams to glaucoma treatment and early detection of medical

Our specialized surgeons offer a full range of
treatments, including LASIK, cataract eye surgery, and
blepharoplasty, using advanced surgical techniques and an extensive
knowledge of vision correction technology.
Ophthalmologists are specialized in vision and eye care, and are
medical doctors. They have completed eight years of additional
training on top of attending college. From treating eye diseases to
prescribing contacts and glasses, ophthalmologists provide the
primary care for patients visual needs. Doctors can have a
subspecialty in cornea, neurology, retina, and glaucoma.
Optometrists can provide vision care but are not medical doctors.
They have completed optometry school to diagnose eye conditions.
Optometrists can perform eye exams and sight tests to determine the
eye concern of the patient. In addition to prescribing medication
for specific eye conditions. However, the ophthalmologists would be
performing the eye surgery.
