Karen Wingartz Small, MD

Every Patient Is Unique
“Becoming an Ophthalmologist and a Uveitis Specialist
has allowed me to practice medicine with my hands
and my heart. Uveitis is
more than just red, irritated eyes. The natural
course of this disease is to recur and cause eye
damage with each flare-up. It robs patients of their
vision and is the 3rd leading cause of blindness
worldwide. My time internationally has been a
rewarding journey where I’ve had the opportunity to
work with so many talented and passionate doctors.
More importantly, I’ve had the privilege to learn
from patients all over the world. No two patients
are the same. Even having the same eye problem,
every patient here in Franklin County brings their
own experiences, their own goals for the future.
Let’s talk about your eye condition at Eye & LASIK,
and find a treatment path together that is
customized only for you.”
